Honor Guard at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery

The Memorial Honor Guard Corps will be on-site at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia and will serve all veterans and families who request honors.

With a sense of honor, duty, and respect, the Hampton Roads community is forming the volunteer Honor Guard Corps to provide full services Monday through Friday. No services are performed on holidays or weekends. Uniforms are provided at no cost. The Memorial Honor Guard Corps needs at least 300 volunteers to fill a squad of 8 volunteers.

To support an on-site volunteer corps, the new Memorial Honor Guard Corps building will provide remote work space with Wi-Fi to assist volunteers who are sponsored to work offsite while serving in the Honor Guard.

The Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery is the final resting place for veterans and their families in Hampton Roads, many of whom have served in conflicts around the world. More than 16,000 veterans are interned at AGHJMVC with possibly 600 or ore veterans or their families members buried every year.

MITS-GIVES, Inc. has partnered with the Virginia Department of Veteran Services to create the Memorial Honor Guard at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. MITS-GIVES, Inc. is a non-profit based in Chesapeake, Virginia. All specified donations for the Honor Guard go directly to the project and an additional 10% will be added by MI Technical Solutions, Inc.

Your donations will cover building expenses, equipment, supplies, and uniforms.

Please fill out the application to join the Memorial Honor Guard Corp.
