We encourage everyone to become active participants in the community by raising funds, making donations, volunteering and attending events whenever possible. Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery Honor Guard

Volunteer today to be a member of the AGH Memorial Honor Guard

To ensure that more veterans receive funeral honors, MITS-GIVES, Inc. has partnered with the Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS) to establish the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery Honor Guard Corps. The goal of the AGHMHGC is to provide honors to all who request them.





America’s Vet Dogs

The service dog programs of America’s VetDogs® were created to provide
enhanced mobility and renewed independence to United States veterans,
active-duty service members, and first responders with disabilities,
allowing them to once again live with pride and self-reliance.  Not only
does a service dog provide support with daily activities, it provides
the motivation to tackle every day challenges.





Alzheimer’s Association

Founded in 1980 by a group of family caregivers and individuals, the Alzheimer’s Association® is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. The event is held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide. Participants are encouraged to raise critical funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support and advance research toward methods of prevention, treatment and, ultimately, a cure. EQUI-VETS

EQUI-VETS Service Program offers physical and mental healing through equine-assisted activities for armed service members wounded in the line of duty. This program is offered to active duty and retired veterans at no cost in honor of their dedicated service to our country. 





GET Empowered CDC

MITS-GIVES Inc. and local charities

GET Empowered CDC supports veterans and families in the Hampton Roads area throughout the year with food, household items, toiletries, Social and economic resources to strengthen family and enhance the community.





Horton Wreath Society

Remember the sacrifices. Respect our veterans. Educate future generations.  Horton Wreath Society was organized to raise funds to place a live evergreen wreath on each marker in the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia. Approximately 13,000 wreaths will be placed at the cemetery. The Society strives to educate all, especially our youth and future generations, to remember the sacrifices by our veterans and to respect them.





Patriot Point

Patriot Point, a 501c3 veteran focused nonprofit based in the Eastern Shore, Maryland, provides a peaceful and safe environment for injured or wounded service members, their families, and caregivers to heal through organized recreational activities and peer-to-peer communication. Some of their activities include canoeing, fishing, trail hiking, and hunting.
